Thank You! Thank you to all the students and families who participated in yesterday's Masses for Catholic Schools Week! It was nice to see all the MDS students in their uniforms. You certainly made your presence known among the parishioners. A great job was done by all the altar servers, greeters, speakers, families bringing up the gifts and those parents running the Information table. Thank you again!
Spring Fundraiser: The Spring Fundraiser, sponsored by Great American Fundraising, will kickoff on Wednesday, February 1, and run through February 15. There are many wonderful new products that make great gifts for those springtime occasions such as Easter, Mother's Day, First Communion and Graduation. Product delivery is tentatively scheduled for sometime before Easter break. We are still looking for one or two people to chair the Great American Spring Fundraiser. For doing all the required work as chairperson, you will receive all 25 hours, or 12.5 if there are two co-chairs. Presidents' Day Holiday Weekend: Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL and NO EXTENSION on Friday, February 17 and Monday, February 20. School will resume on Tuesday, February 21.
Father Daughter Dance: The gala event is this Friday, February 3. Doors will open at 6:00pm with dinner being served at 6:30. Picture packages will be available for purchase, so dress up and look your best!

PICTURE DAY IS HERE – it is Thursday, February 9th with the following schedule: 4:00pm – 7th/8th grade girls team, 4:20pm – 7th grade boys team, 4:40pm – 6th grade boys team, 5:00pm – 5th grade boys team. GOLF/TENNIS/TRACK & FIELD!
Last chance to sign up. As of right now, we do not have enough for a golf team or a tennis team. We do have enough for a Track & Field team. If you are interested in playing, this is your last chance to sign up. FINAL DEADLINE is Friday, February 10th. Canned Food Drive and Stuffed Animal Donations: For community service and social awareness, Student Council and the 8th grade Religion students will be conducting a canned food drive. They will also collect gently used stuffed animals. The donations from both of these collection drives will be given to the Salinas City School District to provide assistance and comfort to the over 1,300 homeless students in Preschool-12th grade. Please drop your canned food donations in the bins in front of the office. Students may give the stuffed animals to their teachers. The canned food and stuffed animal drive will start January 31 and run through Friday, February 10. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Lost & Found Uniforms: Uniform sweatshirts, jackets and other pieces of clothing are again piling up in the office. A table will be set up in front of the SAC with all clothing left over from the last time the tables were available and with the latest additions. Please check for your child’s name on the uniform before taking. Thank you for your cooperation.
Enrollment for New Students for 2012-2013 School Year:
Applications are available in the office for the 2012-2013 school year; Madonna del Sasso School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and/or ethnic origin, age or gender in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school administered programs.
Financial Aid Packets: Student Aid Forms for the 2012-2013 school year are available in the school office on the information wall.
Rainy Day Dismissal: When there is any kind of precipitation during dismissal time, students in grades 1-8 must be picked up from their classrooms. You do not have to sign in at the office; just go directly to your child's/children's classrooms and pick them up. This is to ensure safety for all concerned. Please inform others who might be picking up your child/children, so that they are aware of the procedure. Thank you for your cooperation.
HSA Parents Night Out: The first annual HSA Parents Night Out will be held on Friday, May 11, at Cross Hall. The theme is "Kickin' It Country". HSA is looking for people who are interested in being part of the committee to plan this event. There will be a meeting on Monday, February 6, at 5:30pm in the Band Room to make "Kickin' It Country" a memorable night. HSA is collecting old cowboy boots in any color or size, and in any condition for this event. If you have cowboy boots to donate, please drop them off at Preschool with Mrs. Mitchell.
